We present an approach to extracting the regular component of diurnal behavior of the aerosol optical depth and columnar water vapor of the atmosphere. The daily average dynamics of these characteristics in tomsk is compared with that in the suburban background region, as well as in a few other regions: tomsk, yekaterinburg, irkutsk, yakutsk, and ussuriisk.
